GCU Highlights

The GCU can reduce the UN Hazard Classification and compatibility group of certain munitions to 1.2F to 1.4S. It improves personnel safety when storing and transporting grenades in a ready state. The unit is suitable for the military and the police, and is used by the French Grenarmerie.



The GCU is a steel fabricated cubic box with perforated steel sides and sliding doors. The draw is secured into the outer cubic box with a lanyard and pin. 

The unit does not rely on any electronic, pneumatic or hydraulic components, and hence maintains its function with only basic maintenance and training.

The units are supplied in two formats, F1 and F4, originating from the type of hand grenade stored.

Two units are fitted to a trolley to enable easier movement.

The standard units have an array of 20 (4x5) chambers.

A carousel which holds 4 sample vials can be supplied for each of the chambers in a F4 drawer.

CHARACTERISTICS 

  • Transports up top 1.5kg of armed explosives per tray (75g TNT per chamber) 
  • Stores up to 20 primed grenades (F1 offensive grenades - UN No.0285, F4 CS gas grenades - UN No.0301 or up to 80 forensic samples 
  • Extended lipped base to help slide tray out of the vehicle 
  • Durable and easily cleaned
